I Want To Help

Maybe you’ll only read this a few times until you feel you are getting into your own groove and are doing okay by yourself. Maybe you’ll get tired of thinking of the loss constantly and stop reading about mine.

What I hope though, is that someone comes upon this blog because they are searching for something to help them cope. Hopefully, they will learn from my experiences and feel that they are not alone.

Feeling alone is much different than being lonely.  Lonely is temporary.  Alone, while not exactly permanent, is isolating.  It is just yourself. By yourself.

I want you to know that you are not alone.

I’m with you.

I’ve been through the suck.

I’m still going through the suck.

From what I’ve read, it will be lifelong, but in different ways.

It sucks.

But I am here for you.

I was happily married for almost 24 years. My husband and I had were raising two children. Shortly before our 24th anniversary, Tom died suddenly of heart attack. My world stopped. With kids (ages 16 and 13) there isn't the luxury of mourning at my own pace. I had to roll up my sleeves and help each with their own grief all the while managing mine. It is very hard. I am sad that some of you may have found this blog as you are trying to navigate your own traumatic event. Let me be here for you. Grief is fickle. Just when you think you are strong enough to manage a second, a minute, an hour, Grief changes her mind and punches you in the gut. You are not alone. I'm going through it, too. I am here for you.
