I don’t know.
I was originally thinking that this would help others with their losses. Not in a therapeutic way, but in a way that would show them that they are not alone.
It is really hard being the only one of my friends/family who has gone through losing a spouse so young.
And it’s really unusual for kids my kids’ ages to have lost a parent at such a delicate age.
There are good days.
There are bad days.
There are good days with bad moments and bad days with good moments.
Each day is real though.
Each and every emotion throughout the day is real.
I didn’t have anyone to seek advice from, so I did a lot of reading (still do) and I’ve joined a support group (thank goodness for that).
I guess I just hope that someone who is suffering can read this, along with other blogs and books and realize they are not alone. They can take little pieces from each source and create a formula that helps them day to day. It has helped me to see the order of how things went for the people who are a few months or years ahead of me on this. Sharing their experiences with me has helped me understand what is to come- all of the new painful firsts. And even the things they dreaded, but ended up not being too bad after all.
For those suffering who are reading this and hoping for some magic advice- there is none.
But I hope you see that you’re not alone. There are strangers out here (me!), putting all of this personal stuff online and in books wanting you to know that you will get through today. Worry about tomorrow tomorrow.
You can do this.
I will help you.
