Everyone mourns differently- there is no right or wrong way.
This one though- she’s been a real handful.
She keeps waiting for Tom to get home, she’s ripping up any papers she can find (that’s literally homework in shreds there, I hope already graded) and at times she’s just sad.
She has been a little neglected lately.
After all, Tom was the only one who remembered to feed her everyday. He’d grumble and say, “Why am I the only one who feeds her? I didn’t even want this damn dog!” He also walked her around the yard (four acres) at least twice a day. He’d say, “Has anyone walked this dog today??” and do the overly dramatic parental sigh.
We’d hear him say the sweetest things to her, though. She’d sit with him on the porch while he read the paper. She’d lay at his feet when he was on the computer. She LOVED him. She was like an excited toddler running to him when he got home from work.
He loved that.
No wonder she’s sad.
