I Had To Buy Phone Storage

I had to buy phone storage because going through the camera roll is too painful. It will take too much thought.  Too much time. Should I delete duplicate pictures or is one slightly different and which one is better? In which one of the same picture do we look happier? What is the background in each picture? Each tiny little detail and every angle of the basically same photo is just enough different that I want to keep all of them.

I would rather buy phone storage for nine dollars a month for the rest of my life than to make those tiny decisions that don’t really matter.

But to me, it is all of the small decisions stacked together making a mountain that I cannot climb right now.  Or tomorrow, or next week or next month.

I’ll buy storage for a year and go from there.

(Note to self- in the future, don’t go for different angles.  Take one pic to mark the occasion and then put the phone away.)

I was happily married for almost 24 years. My husband and I had were raising two children. Shortly before our 24th anniversary, Tom died suddenly of heart attack. My world stopped. With kids (ages 16 and 13) there isn't the luxury of mourning at my own pace. I had to roll up my sleeves and help each with their own grief all the while managing mine. It is very hard. I am sad that some of you may have found this blog as you are trying to navigate your own traumatic event. Let me be here for you. Grief is fickle. Just when you think you are strong enough to manage a second, a minute, an hour, Grief changes her mind and punches you in the gut. You are not alone. I'm going through it, too. I am here for you.
